here they go again

It's the middle of September and the neices and nephews should be in full swing at school.

Except they're hunkering down for yet another hurricane -- Ike.

feeder bands ... this has become a blasphemous word to my Southern people.

And to top things off, my mom lovingly told me last night that gas prices are expected to shoot up another $1 a gallon. Damned refineries parked out there in the middle of the Gulf!

I really despise hurricane season.

Woo Hoo!!! Bring out the booze!! It's time for another hurricane par-tay!!

Seriously, this one shouldn't be as bad for us as Gustav. Houston, however, will be getting hammered.

Currently, I am at work; we are under a tornado watch; it is starting to get rainy and a bit windy; and about 15% of Baton Rouge is still without power after Gustav (really, how bad does THAT suck for people?).

But, we have electricity for now, a generator with lots of gas, ample supples to make it through another days without electricity and hooch - - plenty of hooch.

AND, we will have LSU football tomorrow night in Death Valley! It's all good man! (Well, except for the couple ten thousand or so of people still without power in LA.)

well folks, I guess it's all about having the right perspective ...

enough booze (check!), enough gas for generator (check!), currently have electricity (check!) and LSU football still scheduled to go on (super check!!).

yep folks, it's all perspective!

Are you being sarcastic? I don't get it....

No way, I'm serious! This is the correct perspective to have in a case like this.

And in my opinion, it shows you also have your priorities straight (generator, booze, LSU football -- and in that order!!)

Plus I paid $3.39 a gallon today. So the sky hasn't fallen yet.
